Hard Rock Niagara Falls NY
It was a good turnout, and a great time opening for Mike Oliver at the Tralf Saturday night.
Rich Wall put together this video of us performing "Curious" at Big Orbit Gallery Saturday night.
We had a great time at the Big Orbit Gallery last night. After our set, Dear Leader came on and blew the roof off the place.
Come out and see our band open for Dear Leader at the Big Orbit Gallery this Saturday at 6 PM.
I was thinking of a series of dreams
Where nothing comes up to the top
Everything stays down where it's wounded
And comes to a permanent stop
Wasn't thinking of anything specific
Like in a dream, when someone wakes up and screams
Nothing too very scientific
Just thinking of a series of dreams
Thinking of a series of dreams
Where the time and the tempo fly
And there's no exit in any direction
'Cept the one that you can't see with your eyes
Wasn't making any great connection
Wasn't falling for any intricate scheme
Nothing that would pass inspection
Just thinking of a series of dreams
Dreams where the umbrella is folded
Into the path you are hurled
And the cards are no good that you're holding
Unless they're from another world
In one, numbers were burning
In another, I witnessed a crime
In one, I was running, and in another
All I seemed to be doing was climb
Wasn't looking for any special assistance
Not going to any great extremes
I'd already gone the distance
Just thinking of a series of dreams
Djambossa features Dean Gionis and Bob Maulucci on guitars and is completed by bassist Kent Weber.
DjamBossa (jam-boss-a) -
is inspired by the late great gypsy jazz guitarist Django Reinhardt. We start our name, like he did. Djambossa is highly improvisational, we love to "jam". Djambossa infuses latin styles like bossanova into our set. A sometimes soft and sometimes scathing acoustic mélange. An eclectic mix of ethnic folk - gypsy jazz, bossanova, flamenco and even blues.
If you're in Buffalo, check the website to catch them at a finer bar or restaurant.
On occasional warm summer nights, Dean and Bob can be found sitting outside the Sterling Tavern on Hertel Avenue after a gig, casually jamming through tunes like these:
History:
Bob and Dean were in nancyscandy together. Then Bob and I were in nancyscandy. Then Bob left for DjamBossa. Then nancyscandy became A Potter's Field.
Our band, A Potter's Field will be playing at Nietzsche's Thursday night, sometime after 9 PM. Bands do about 20 minutes each, and it's always a great line-up doing all Lennon all night.
People who haven't heard the band always ask what type of music we play. What would you call it?
